A library in New York was shocked this month when a book was returned to them - 55 years after it was borrowed.
The copy of "Fire of Francis Xavier" by Francis Xvaier also contained a cheque for $100, presumably to cover the fine it would have accrued since it was taken out in April 1958.

It's not known who the returner was or why they had a sudden attack on conscience.
One thing that's safe to assume though is that they found the biography of a 16th century priest 'a little heavy going'.
