Samsung Galaxy S4 To Have 'Eye Scroll' Tracking Tech?

Samsung's next flagship smartphone might be able to track your eyes to control scrolling.

The South Korean tech giant will release its newest flagship smartphone on 14 March in New York, expected to be named the Galaxy S4.

According to Brian X. Chen at the New York Times, the new phone will have a "strong focus" on software, with so-called 'eye scrolling' central to the new features.

The phone will literally track the position of your eyes and scroll a page when you want to read more, according to the report.

The Times' unnamed source did not say how the feature would work or what other uses it may have, however.

Adding weight to the rumours, Samsung recently filed for the trademarks "Eye Scroll" in the EU and "Samsung Eye Scroll" in the United States.

The latter was described as: "Computer application software having a feature of sensing eye movements and scrolling displays of mobile devices, namely, mobile phones, smartphones and tablet computers according to eye movements; digital cameras; mobile telephones; smartphones; tablet computers."

Among other terms it has filed for is "Eye Pause", though it isn't known what that might do.

Meanwhile supposed images of a 'leaked' Galaxy S4 show a larger device than the best-selling S3, but one which offers few surprises in form-factor.
