Declan Donnelly relished a rare solo appearance today after his TV partner Anthony McPartlin fell sick.
The Britain's Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! duo won TV Personality Of The Year, beating Alan Carr and Stephen Fry, at the Tric Awards.
Donnelly, 37, took to the stage to receive the gong from former This Morning presenter Fern Britton and revealed that, for once, he was alone.
"Ant is in bed with a bug, he's vomiting," he said.
"He can't be here, but I have to say that it's strangely liberating," he admitted.
"I'll be honest with you, it's what I wanted," the presenter joked.
Donnelly told the celebrity guests: "We've never been able to come before and it was supposed to be the pair of us."
But he joked that it was wonderful that fellow presenter McPartlin "was not here ruining my day".
The TV bash in central London saw Ant and Dec win the TV personality trophy while one of their shows, I'm A Celebrity, took the Tric Special Award.
Coronation Street beat EastEnders and Hollyoaks to Soap Of The Year but there was some good news for Albert Square with Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon, crowned Soap Personality.
Peter Andre scooped Digital TV Personality and Radio 2 Breakfast DJ Chris Evans won Digital Radio Personality.
Call The Midwife was named Drama Programme Of The Year and Strictly Come Dancing best Reality Programme.
The central London event took place at the same time as the South Bank Sky Arts Awards and it appeared that some guests might have got confused.
Actors Richard E Grant and Jeremy Irons both turned up at the Tric Awards at Grosvenor House, before making their way to the nearby Dorchester.
