Daniel Day-Lewis can celebrate his 56th birthday today, safe in the knowledge that he holds a singular status in acting history (I mean apart from the three Oscars he's scooped as Best Leading Actor - another unique achievement).

For, while many actors have played US presidents - see below - he must surely be alone in being portrayed in return by the current White House incumbent.

President Barack Obama gave Day-Lewis fans a treat at the weekend, channelling his inner method actor to take on the Irish actor in a spoof filmed for the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington.

He was steered by Steven Spielberg, who also directed Day-Lewis in the recent biopic 'Lincoln'.
