A neat research project to place computer interfaces on virtually any physical object has been shown off in Paris.
Engadget has a full report on the MIT Media Lab's idea from the CHI 2013 conference.
The aim is to map software onto objects like door locks and radios, using an iPad and a small transceiver.

The result is that users can control virtually anything by using their iPad as the interface, unlocking more complex features and customising their devices.
Combined with something like Google's wearable Glass computer, this could become even more useful.
