A St James's Park bar named after former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has had its sign removed.
The bar is undergoing refurbishment although the club has not clarified whether it will be renamed.
Shearer said in his Sun column he found Newcastle's latest shambles "sickening".
Joe Kinnear has returned to the club as director of football nearly five years after a chaotic spell as interim manager.
Kinnear, 66, gave a disastrous radio interview on Monday in which he pronounced several Toon players' names wrong and listed a number of purported facts which were wildly inaccurate.
Former managing director Derek Llambias' resignation was also confirmed on Wednesday.
