If reports are to be believed, the Royal baby is not yet due for another fortnight or so.
But the world’s media is taking no chances – with photographers and cameramen already vying for the top spots outside the private Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.
Stepladders, tripods and crowd barriers are already in place as members of the media await the first signs of the baby’s arrival.
Local shopkeeper Raj Venkat told AFP he had been inundated with requests for painter’s stepladders.
“I didn’t know what was going on, everybody all arrived and were buying ladders and they were carrying big cameras and these things.
“I sold many, I have many more at the back, very popular the big one for £59, but I don’t know what started it.”
