What does the ONLY single girl on Team MyDaily do on the most romantic night of the year? Daisy May Sitch, 25, is not bitter and she's hot stepping her way back to the roaring Twenties to prove it.
Oh I'm all for Valentines Day - love the oversized, over-the-top-ness of it all. Trouble is, this lady is without a man. Ticket for one please.
But it's cool, honestly. I'll still throw myself into a Valentines-themed night out. Should I be denied the chance to partake in a little romanticised fun because I'm single? Ho no no. Do I hate couples? No, though I am grossed out by the ones who spoon-feed each other Pret porridge on the tube for breakfast. That's more than I need to see. Ever.
So I intend to take my single self along to the Museum of London this evening for their Valentines @ Late event and try my hand (and foot) at the Charleston with the London Swing Dance Society. I'll be mainly Runnin' Wild.
OK so I'm really going for the Absinthe tasting – which I hope comes pre-swing session - the live cabaret show and the jazz but the dance thing could absolutely work in my favour.
It will definitely lead to conversation and I'm hoping the cocktails prepare me for all eventualities (middle-aged boys/sixty-somethings/peacocking hipsters with baggage).
Please note I'm not actually on the prowl, nor do I expect to meet the next best thing to Ryan Gosling (that's my type by the way - I'm a sucker for a varsity jacket) but if I leave a bit squiffy with tip-tap in my step and smidge of romantic intrigue I'll be happy. Cross my heart...
