Police Appeal As Boy, Aged Six, Accosted By Van Driver In Ipswich

Police are appealing for information after a six-year-old boy was accosted by a man who asked him to get into his van.

The child was approached in Beatty Road, Ipswich, at around 5.15pm yesterday, Suffolk Police said.

Police said the boy walked over towards the van but was called away by his mother. At this point the man has driven away along Beatty Road and turned on to Gorse Road in the south of the town.

The man, described as white, in his mid-30s, with short brown hair and with a tattoo on his left forearm, was driving a blue VW camper van with a white roof.
