Zurich's 'Sex Boxes', Drive-In Booths To Protect Prostitutes, Are Set To Be Unveiled

Zurich Opens New 'Sex Boxes'

Switzerland's first-ever drive-in sex booths are set to open in Zurich.

In an attempt to monitor the sex trade in the capital, the government is opening nine of the so-called 'sex boxes' across the city.

Residents approved the new buildings, which look like simple wooden sheds, in a referendum.

They will be open from 7pm until 5am.

Prostitution is legal in Switzerland, but the government is keen to "define the rules" of the industry to protect workers.

Drivers must pass a checkpoint and pay a fee before being able to access the box, which will be equipped with an alarm so workers can call for help, the Telegraph reported.

There will also be security guards on the sites.
