He Was Lovin' It - Bolt Claims He Devoured 1,000 McNuggets During 2008 Olympics

Usain Bolt was certainly lovin' it during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he ate an estimated 1,000 McDonald's Chicken McNuggets.

Bolt, 27, won three gold medals in China and his personality was bolstered by the revelation he feasted on McNuggets ahead of his world record-breaking 100 metres dash.

“At first I ate a box of 20 for lunch, then another for dinner," he writes in his autobiography, Faster Than Lightning. "The next day I had two boxes for breakfast, one for lunch and then another couple in the evening.

“Man, I should have gotten a gold medal for all that chowing down."

One thousand nuggets equates to around 47,000 calories, NBC Sports calculated. That's three grams of fat per nugget and 90 mg of sodium.

Bolt, who won three more golds at London 2012, admitted he resorted to the American fast-food chain because he wasn't keen on Chinese food.
