Drama Teacher Struck Off For Pestering Pupil For Sex

A drama teacher who pestered a pupil for sex, singled out the virgins in her class and made her students mime sex acts has been struck off.

Lindsay Black, who was covering maternity leave at St Joseph's Roman Catholic High School, Newport, plagued the 17-year-old with emails, texts and Facebook messages.

A disciplinary panel in Cardiff heard the teacher had "inappropriate and sexually explicit" talks with other pupils, the BBC reported. Black asked her sixth form class "who's a virgin?", making pupils stand up if they were.

Lindsay Black has been permanently struck off the teaching register

Abigail Watts, an English teacher at the school, said she had heard rumours of the blossoming friendship between her colleague and the pupil. "I heard comments from other pupils about Miss Black liking pupils and I asked what this meant," she told the hearing. "They said she had been Facebook messaging Pupil A - she told him she had a dream about them having sex.

"They had not met up but they had been talking about it."

Black also got her students to act out giving blowjobs, the Telegraph reported.

Fellow teacher Sandra Davies said: “Pupils told me that during drama classes Miss Black would talk about sex and she turned the lessons on to a sexual theme.

“She said she wanted to cheat on her fiancé once before getting married and that she fantasised about having sex on a table in the drama class.

“They played a game called ‘I have never’ where she would ask them things like have you ever had a blow job.

“She would then get the pupils to act out the acts in question.”

The panel found Black, who did not attend the hearing, guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and banned her from teaching.

Committee chairman Peter Williams said: "The conduct in question seriously affected pupils and was not an isolated lapse. Black's actions are fundamentally incompatible with being a registered teacher."
