British Teen Killed In Avalanche

A British teenager has been killed in an avalanche while skiing in Austria on Tuesday afternoon.

The unnamed 16-year-old was off-piste with his twin brother, father and instructor when the incident happened in the resort of Lech am Arlberg, reports the telegraph.

The boy's father who was also buried is in a serious condition. The surviving twin avoided the snow while the instructor managed to escape and start a rescue operation.

Three helicopters attended the scene.

The Foreign Office said: “We can confirm the death of a British national and the hospitalisation of a British national on 17 December in Austria. We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time," reports ITV News.
