The Royal Family received more than 70 gifts in 2013, including a gnome and some golf clubs. Her majesty was given a range of items from dignitaries and individuals, with some of the more bizarre tokens including a portrait of the royal face burned into a tree, an ostrich egg and a chocolate Windsor Castle.
According to Royal protocol, the Royal Family does not accept extravagant gifts that might obligate the recipient to the giver.

The Queen wasn’t the only royal to be handed an unusual gift – Princess Anne received a plastic angel, while the Duke of York was given a chocolate bar and champagne tea. The Duke of Edinburgh, it seems, is a lot easier to buy for, receiving many ties throughout the course of the year.
