An independent author who specialises in "Bigfoot Erotica" is making more than £18,000 per month from eBook sales.
The Daily Beast reports on the tale of 'Virginia Wade', an author of what is known as 'Cryptozoological Erotica'.
The books - also known as "monster porn" - largely deal with romance and lasciviously described acts of sex between humans and mythical creatures. Here's a list of 10 of the most imaginative titles in the genre. (NSFW)
Virginia Wade, a pseudonym and not the tennis player, released her first titles to limited success. But those were just normal, human erotica with imaginative titles such as 'Jennifer's Anal Seduction' and 'Stacy And The Boys'. It was only when she released her first monster porn instalment ('Cum For Bigfoot') that her career took off.
She is now earning up to $30,000 a month via Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing, the Beast reports, and she has 16 books in the Bigfoot series alone.
In the UK Wade's most popular title is 'Moan For Bigfoot', a collection of the first five bigfoot titles, sold for 77p and described in the following way:
"On a weeklong outing in Mt. Hood National Forest, what begins as a flirty, fun-filled trip soon turns into a nightmare, when an ape-like creature kidnaps a group of young women with the purpose of procreating with them."
Reviews are enthusiastic:
"I never thought I'd enjoy Bigfoot sex in a million years but this is so well-written and just plain crazy that I couldn't help myself. I loved it," says one UK buyer.
Says another: "A fascinating insight into the nocturnal activities of this most elusive of creatures. A must read for any cryptozoologists and a reminder that if you go down in the woods today......you're sure of a big surprise!"
