Military Drone Honeywell RQ-16A T-Hawk Is Almost Cute Not Terrifying Like Most

Drones - sleek, silent, terrifying bringers of death from the skies. Usually.

But sometimes they look like this...

It's got tentacles, one massive eye and a big clumsy motor on top - it's almost cute.

This is the Honeywell RQ-16A T-Hawk, a gasoline-powered, remote controlled drone used to look for improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan.

The little beast can be carried in two backpacks and can fly at a pretty impressive 80mph.

They have also been used for non-military applications such as surveying the damaged Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power station.
