Jamie Oliver Attempts To Speak Cantonese, Fails Miserably (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jamie Oliver Opens A 'Very Slippery Italian Submarine'

Jamie Oliver. A man of many talents, like cooking blokey cuisine, double-entendre book titles and a perfected *concerned* face. Speaking Cantonese, however, is not one of them.

Announcing a new restaurant, Jamie's Italian Hong Kong, the chef struggles with the local lingo: "I will open an amazing Italian submarine," he says, adding the food will be "very slippery".

And his first attempt to say “Causeway Bay” in Cantonese, as he received some off-screen prompting, came out as “car crash”

The video has received more than 35,000 hits since it was posted on Tuesday and the South China Morning Post reported Oliver's Cantonese had been received with delight by Hong Kong fans.

“Hong Kong people like your Cantonese! But they like you even better,” wrote Cheng Dai Hup, underneath the clip.
