How To Remove Blackheads Without Damaging Your Skin

You've got a big night out coming up and you want to feel your best, but you look in the mirror and what do you see?

Blackheads.

Yep we've all been there - men and women. Those pesky little buggers appear out of nowhere and are damn near impossible to remove without squeezing your face into red blotchy oblivion.

There seems to be much confusion as to what blackheads actually are - they are not caused my dirt, so don't listen to rumours that blackheads are a result of poor washing habits.

Blackheads (and whiteheads for that matter) are both technically called comedones - a collection of sebum and skin cells gathered in your hair follicles. They get stuck and block the hair follicle, causing a person to have a breakout.

The difference in whiteheads and blackheads is simply if the hair follicle is open or closed. When open, the oxygen in the air oxidizes the oils, turning them brown - a blackhead.

The most common place to find blackheads in around the nose or chin area.

Removing blackheads by pushing, pulling and squeezing your skin can lead to damage, infection and even scarring. So how do you treat blackheads while caring for your skin.?
