Where you fall among your siblings can often determine your place in the family hierarchy for the rest of your life. The oldest kid is the firstborn, lavished with praise as they reach all life's milestones first - which equals diminishing returns for younger siblings.
But at least the youngest will always be the baby of the family, no matter their real age. Mum and dad will always give them that little extra leeway, aware of the rapidly approaching day when they face an empty nest.

Our favourite part sees the unlucky chap wedged between his older and younger sister as they play video games while he sits empty-handed. "You get to play the winner," one chirps. "And neither of us have lost yet."
