'Gogglebox' Star George Gilbey For 'Celebrity Big Brother' New Series?

'Gogglebox' Star For 'CBB'?

Gogglebox’ star George Gilbey might be swapping his spot in front of the telly for a seat in the Diary Room chair, as rumours suggest he’s the latest star being lined up for the next series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

Since the latest series of ‘Gogglebox’ began, George has become a favourite among viewers of the Channel 4 series, best known for his high-pitched voice - which has earned him the nickname Squeaky - when he critiques the week’s TV with his mum and step-dad.

“George would be the butt of all jokes, but he has the good humour to take it well.”

Rumours first began to circulate after fansite ‘Big Brother Xtra’ noticed a ‘Big Brother’ researcher had tweeted George asking if he’d received an email and needed them to pay for a taxi for him, only for the tweet to then be deleted.

Other stars linked to the next series of the reality show include former ‘Corrie’ actress Helen Flanagan, ‘Benefits Street’ star White Dee and Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst.

The show has big shoes to fill after the most recent series in January - which saw Blue star Lee Ryan embroiled in a love triangle - proved a massive hit with viewers.

This year's 'BB' eye

Before that kicks off, though, we can look forward to the regular series, which starts next week. It was reported earlier this week that the new series will have a ‘Power Trip’ theme.

The show also has a new edition to its presenting team, with ‘CBB’ star Luisa Zissman due to take a permanent slot on the panel of ‘Big Brother’s Bit On The Side’, which former ‘X Factor’ singer Rylan Clark will be returning to present, while Emma Willis will once again front the main show.
