'Gun Selfie' Attempt Results In Tragic, If Foreseeable Fatal Accident

'Gun Selfie' Attempt Results In Tragically Predictable Accident

A selfie-obsessed man shot himself in the head while reportedly attempting to take a picture of himself with a gun.

Oscar Otero Aguilar, 21, a vet from Mexico City, was posing with a handgun for his Facebook page when the fatal accident occurred.

Aguilar's Facebook page is filled with selfies, with pictures of himself in his car, posing with women and other fascinating images.

But when he posed with the gun, he had gone one step too far. The gun -- apparently not to his knowledge -- was loaded, and went off as he tried to take the picture.

Police said he was "waving" the gun around when it went off.

Neighbour Manfredo Paez said: "I heard a gunshot, and then I heard somebody screaming and realised somebody had been hurt. I called the police straight away and when they arrived they found that he was still alive."

Aguilar died on his way to hospital, police said.

And no, he isn't the only person to ever think taking a selfie with a gun was a good idea -- only to find out it can quickly have negative consequences.
