Germany 2-4 Argentina: Ángel Di María Assists Three And Scores One

Di María Decimates Germany In World Cup Final Re-Match

Ángel di María scored one and assisted another three as Argentina spoiled Germany's homecoming in a re-match of the World Cup final.

All six goals came courtesy of Premier League players in Düsseldorf on a night Germany paid tribute to their retired World Cup winners Per Mertesacker, Miroslav Klose and former captain Philipp Lahm.

Manchester United's record signing Di María created first-half goals for Sergio Agüero and Erik Lamela as Argentina overwhelmed the world champions. The 26-year-old then crossed for new Swansea signing Federico Fernández to make it three shortly after half-time and Di María got on the scoresheet with a delicious dink to round off the scoring for La Albiceleste.

Di María scores Argentina's fourth goal

André Schürrle made it 1-4 and Mario Götze's shot deflected in off Fernández for an own goal.

The match marked Germany's first defeat in 15 months on Tata Martino's first match in charge of the Argentineans.
