Congratulations are in order for Sam Bailey, who has given birth to a “beautiful” baby girl.
The 'X Factor’ winner broke the news in a statement, which revealed that she and her husband Craig had welcomed their third child into the world on Wednesday morning.
The statement read: “We are delighted to let you know that Sam Bailey gave birth to her third child, a beautiful baby girl, at 10.41am this morning. Both Mother and baby are doing well.”
She and her husband are already parents to a son, Tommy, and a daughter, Brooke.
Sam first announced that she was pregnant back in March, just three months after triumphing over Nicholas McDonald and Luke Friend in the ‘X Factor’ final.
She explained that she’d discovered she was expecting after taking a pregnancy test in a supermarket, revealing that initially she was worried to announce her news because she felt like she’d “let everyone at my management and the record label down”.
The former prison guard revealed earlier this year that she wasn’t planning on finding out the sex of the baby, but admitted to HuffPost UK in March: “My daughter's first reaction was 'I hope it's a girl'.”
2014 has been a great year for Sam so far, with her debut album ‘The Power of Love’ becoming the first release by an ‘X Factor’ winner to top the UK album chart since Alexandra Burke’s ‘Overcome’ hit the number one spot back in 2009.
She will be embarking on her first solo tour UK, in support of her album, from January 2015.
