GCSE In Cooking And Nutrition To Be Introduced


A new GCSE in cooking and nutrition will be introduced in schools from 2016.

The Department for Education said pupils would be given lessons in the scientific principles behind a healthy diet combined with practical tips on cooking and presenting dishes.

The qualification is designed to introduce more of a scientific approach to the subject than is currently offered by conventional GCSEs in home economics.
