This 'High Tech' Brick Costs $220

This is the Brick Lamp, it's a lamp that costs $220. Plenty of lamps cost $220 but very few of them are also bricks.

This 'high tech' LED lamp is at first glance simply a brick with a lamp attached and sure, there's a very high probability that is exactly what it is but in the world of good design sometimes all you need is a brick and a light.

Design store Umbra Shift describes the Brick Lamp as 'aesthetically blunt yet stylish and functional, the Brick Lamp is an adjustable LED task lamp for your desk or shelf.'

It was designed by Philippe Malouin whose other designs follow a similarly simple yet functional design ethic, although you'd be hard-pressed to find one that's as simple as this.

So there you have it, this is design. Whether or not you think it's worth the price is entirely subjective, and we guess that's the point. To some it'll simply be a brick with holes in it, to others it'll be an stylish yet functional desk accessory.
