The ad campaign for Alexander Wang's collaboration with H&M has landed and West Ham footballer, Andy Carroll, is just one of the stars modelling the new line of luxe sports gear. And he's set to star in the TV commercial which will air from 30 October.
That's right, a real footballer - not any of those model types.
Okay, so supermodels Joan Smalls, Racquel Zimmerman, Natasha Poly and Isabeli Fontana also appear in the campaign decked out in Wang's stylish sports kit (jersey dresses, leggings, oversized outerwear), and it's not like Andy Carroll doesn't have model credentials.
He's an actual athlete, therefore the perfect poster guy for this collection, he's got *really* good hair (the slicked back ponytail is bang on trend) and he's gorgeous. In that real, rugged way.
"For the men's campaign, we wanted to work with non-typical male models. We chose soccer player Andy Carroll and kick boxer Rivaldino dos Santos, who both are as talented athletes as they are in front of the camera," Wang told WWD.
Mikael Jansson photographed Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos alongside said models for the campaign and the vibe is sports heroes in affordable high fashion. This is Wang's "ultimate dream team".
As for the ladies? "The girls had to feel big and heroic, and Mikael used sunlight glares to heighten that effect against a stark white backdrop" says Wang.
The capsule collection is set to be released 6 November so be at your ready because this #ALEXANDERWANGxHM is going to fly off the rails, for sure.
