Samsung Says Its New WiFi Is FIVE TIMES Faster

WiFi is about to go into overdrive. Samsung says its developing a new type of WiFi which is up to five times as fast as current tech.

The South Korean giant is building 60GHz Wi-Fi technology, which would speed up data transmissions to 4.6 gigabits per second — the equivalent of 575MB per second.

In other words, a 1GB file wouldn't even take three seconds to transfer from device to device. It said the faster Wi-Fi would be particularly useful when applied to smart home and Internet of Things devices.

Here's hoping they can monetise it.
