Music producer Dr. Luke has denied Kesha’s allegations that he sexually abused her for over a decade, including both physical and emotional abuse.
It was reported by TMZ on Tuesday that the ‘Tik Tok’ singer had filed a lawsuit against Dr Luke - real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald - claiming he had been abusive towards her continuously over the past ten years, which he now vehemently denies, and has hit her with a lawsuit of his own.
The music producer’s lawyer, Christine Lepera, tells The Mirror: “Undoubtedly, Kesha’s lawsuit is nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts. We are confident that Dr. Luke will prevail in all matters, and that our client will be awarded substantial damages for this malicious conduct.”
In Kesha’s lawsuit, she alleges that while working with Dr. Luke he forced her to use drugs and alcohol “in order to take advantage of her sexually”, while also subjecting her to emotional abuse which she claims fueled the eating disorder that landed her in rehab for two months at the beginning of 2014.
She is reportedly demanding damages, as well as freedom from her recording contract she has with him, which she has been signed to since the age of 18.
Dr. Luke produced a number of Kesha’s hits, including her two number one singles ‘We R Who We R’ and ‘Timber’, a collaboration with Pitbull. He has also produced hits for a massive range of stars, including Katy Perry, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears.
