Craig Charles Says His Goodbyes On 'I'm A Celebrity' Following The Sudden Death Of His Brother (PICS)

Craig Charles has said goodbye to his shocked 'I'm A Celebrity' campmates following the sudden death of his brother.

In emotional scenes that will feature in Thursday night's 'I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!', the 'Coronation Street' star is seen being comforted by his fellow celebs, including Michael Buerk and Vicki Michelle, as he prepares to leave the jungle.

The 49-year-old actor is due to fly home today after his brother, former Merseyside police officer Dean, 52, died of a heart attack on Tuesday evening.

'I'm A Celebrity' bosses took the decision to wait until Thursday morning to break the news to Craig after finding out about the death from his family in the middle of the night because of the time difference in the UK.

An ITV source said: "Craig was told the sad news earlier today. He was devastated and decided to leave straight away, but did stop to say his goodbyes to his fellow celebrities.

"He was a great part of the show and we are sorry to see him leave but completely respect his wishes."

His departure comes just 24 hours after 'TOWIE' star Gemma Collins quit the show after three days in the jungle.

Confiding in her campmates shortly before her dramatic exit in Wednesday night’s show, Gemma said: “I’m so out of my comfort zone that it’s made me realise the girl I once was. I have become a character, a puppet of Gemma that is not the real me and no amount of money would keep me here.

“I don’t need to sit in the jungle for three weeks and play up to the cameras, I’m tired of it, I just want to be me.”
