Lego Toys For Christmas 2014

Christmas presents mean just one thing to legions of boys and girls - more Lego! But with so many varieties on the market now, from Minecraft to Star Wars to The Hobbit, it can be hard to know where to start looking.

We've scoured the market looking for the Lego sets that will knock your kids' socks off, and we've put together a gallery of our favourites at the bottom of the page.

The world's best-selling toy has been at the top of kids' Christmas lists for well over 50 years, and shows no signs of slowing - in fact, Lego has only grown stronger with the release of mega hit animation The LEGO Movie (we've been sure to include some movie merchandise in our top picks).

But the set that everyone's talking about this year is LEGO Minecraft. The makers of everyone's favourite toy bricks have joined forces with Minecraft, the world-building computer game, to launch several crossover sets that will have young Minecraft fans salivating in anticipation.

On the other end of the scale, the LEGO Friends range concentrates on imagination and storytelling, while still offering plenty of opportunity to build and customise your own world.

And for younger children, there's the DUPLO range - bright colours, simple assembly, and chunky, grabble bricks perfect for little hands.

All of our listings contain links to the LEGO Shop, where you can find out more about the products. But remember to shop around - all the high street toy chains, as well many online outlets, stock a wide range of Lego products. And they can often knock a hefty chunk off the recommended retail price!
