Gwyneth Paltrow was snubbed for the job of contributing food editor at Yahoo "because she dropped out of university", it has been claimed.
A column in the New York Times alleged Marissa Mayer, CEO at the global company, "balked" at hiring the celebrity, because she did not graduate the University of California at Santa Barbara. An anthropology student, Paltrow dropped out to pursue acting full-time, and has since written two cookbooks and runs her own lifestyle website Goop.
