Here's a rainy day activity that will keep your children entertained and help clear out some rubbish too.
To celebrate the release of animated family adventure The Boxtrolls on 3D Blu-ray™ and DVD on 26 January 2015, Universal Pictures (UK) has partnered with environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy to create The Big Boxtrolls Recycling Week Challenge.
Schools nationwide are being challenged to sign up and make a fresh start to the new year, and to de-clutter post-Christmas, by using a cardboard box and left over materials to create their very own Boxtroll.
Kids will also learn how to correctly recycle and care for their own communities. The challenge will run from Monday 26 to Friday 30 January 2015, and you can find out more at www.keepbritaintidy.org/bigboxtrolls.
To get crafty at home whilst helping the environment, just like the thrifty Boxtroll characters, simply follow the guide below and get creative with your own Boxtroll design.
You will need a cardboard box big enough for your child to fit over their head and shoulders, other leftover bits of paper and a pair of scissors.
The Boxtrolls is released on 3D Blu-ray™ and DVD on 26 January, 2015.
With an outstanding voice cast, The Boxtrolls is a handcrafted animation by LAIKA, which follows the story of the adorable trash collecting characters.
The characters have adopted orphaned boy Eggs and raised him in the amazing world that they have created by collecting junk no longer needed by the people above their underground haven, on the streets of Cheesebridge.
