Foie gras, French for "fatty liver", is a food many people go their entire lives without trying.
Some people avoid it because it's fattening, some because they can't afford, and some people just think it's downright cruel.
In France, the food is protected under law, meaning it must be produced by force-feeding a duck or goose with a feeding tube.

In other countries, however, it is allowed to be prepared in a more humane way, and some countries have blanket bans on the production of the creamy liver.
Our lovely pals at BuzzFeed thought they would catch the reactions of people scoffing it for the first time.
You can rest assured, the foie gras in this video was humanely produced.
