The Original Star Wars Trilogy Is Coming To iTunes

After years of waiting, Disney has confirmed that all six Star Wars films -- both the original and new trilogy -- will be available for digital download on iTunes and other digital platforms on Friday 10th April.

Available to pre-order on iTunes now, this is the first time that the films have been available for digital download. Disney confirms that the films will be available with never-before-seen footage along with plenty of extras.

It's not clear which version of the original trilogy will be available with the controversial Special Edition causing upset among fans who were against the introduction of CGI where there previously was none.

Then of course there was the infamous later cuts which added in extra scenes to tie the older films with the new trilogy including the addition of a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of the last film.

Disney will release the next installment of the Star Wars saga: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" this Christmas along with two more films planned as well as a third spinoff film called "Rogue One".
