Dad Writes Comical 'Taken'-Inspired Note To Get Kids To Put Dishes In Dishwasher

Dad's 'Taken'-Style Note To Get Kids To Clean Up Is Brilliant

What parenting techniques do you use to get your kids to clean up after themselves? Shout? Send them to their room? Give up?

This dad took matters into his own hands when his teenagers refused to put their dishes in the dishwasher by penning a note inspired by the film Taken.

Reddit user, labuzan, posted a photo of the note which said to their kids if they don't clean up their mess they will be "disconnected" from their phones and wifi.

The user wrote: "My teenagers refuse to put their dishes in the dishwasher. So I put this above the sink."

Using very similar words from the phone scene in the film Taken where Bryan Mills' daughter is kidnapped by travelling in France, the dad wrote on the note:

"I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for a maid to clean up after you, I can tell you I don’t do that.

"But what I do have are a particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long lifetime.

"Skills that make me an expert in home WiFi systems and Cellular data packages.

"If you clean up your own kitchen mess, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you.

Of course, taking away wifi and mobile phones is possibly the worst thing you could do as a parent so we wouldn't be surprised if this note really did magically make those dishes appear in the dishwasher.

When he uploaded it to Reddit, many parents began discussing their own ways to get their kids to clean up after themselves.

While others simply praised the dad for his excellent idea...
