A top London spa is providing a beauty treatment that can be a relaxing aid for breast cancer and mastectomy patients in their recovery.
The 'Bust Blossom' is a bespoke bust massage focusing on the upper torso to induce deep relaxation, offered at the Agua Bathhouse and Spa at Mondrian London.
By treating the entire thoracic cavity through gentle manipulation and breathing techniques, the treatment is able to promote the drainage of tension from the solar plexus and chest muscles, balance breathing rhythm and increase overall detoxification of the tissues through improving circulation.

The gentle therapeutic treatment, which starts from £80, was created especially for the spa by Dr Jackson's Natural Products - which are developed with healing properties beneficial to those recovering from surgery.
The Bust Blossom treatment also targets the improvement of mobility of the shoulder girdle and, for any post-surgery guests, helps a little in alleviating discomfort and re-establishing touch.
To help guests stay comfortable, the therapy uses a Hydrotherm water cushion throughout the 50-minute treatment time, and guests can relax afterwards with a special herbal tea, duvet and hot water bottle.

Jacqueline Kneebone, director of Agua Spas London, told HuffPost UK Style how the treatment has been designed to be suitable for all women, as well as those who are recovering from surgery and breast cancer:
"Treatment of the bust and torso is fundamentally beneficial to all women, it aids flexibility, improves posture and breathing as well as easing the upper body of all the tensions we hold.
"The methods we use are very steady and light, and the guests also benefit from lying on a Hydrotherm water cushion in a supine position - this eliminates any awkwardness which is so often the reason for not having a treatment."

To ensure the spa's therapists are following the best practice, they receive a variety of training sessions on remedial breast and torso massage from Eve Lom MBE, the Jing Massage Institute and Hydrotherm.
Mondrian also recently collaborated with the charity Breast Cancer Care, providing the Bust Blossom treatment for 18 of the models ahead of their fashion show marking the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
