'Strictly Come Dancing' 2015: Kirsty Gallacher Is Fifth Star To Leave Following Dance Off Against Jamelia

'Strictly' Waves Farewell To Fifth Contestant

Kirsty Gallacher has become the fifth contestant and first female celebrity to leave ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

MORE 'STRICTLY':

The Sky Sports presenter and partner Brendan Cole landed in the dance off along with Jamelia and partner Tristan McManus on Sunday’s (1 November) results show, following the previous night’s Halloween special.

Both couples performed their routines again, with Kirsty and Brendan doing their Charleston to ‘Bad Romance’ by Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and Jamelia and Tristan performing their Jive to ‘The Time Warp’ from ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

But it was not enough to save Kirsty and Brendan, and judges Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell unanimously voted to save Jamelia and Tristan.

When asked by host Tess Daly if she had enjoyed her time on the show, Kirsty said, “It’s been a wonderful experience but Jamelia deserves it more than me and I really mean that, she’s a very natural dancer.

“I did my best but it was time to go! My ‘Strictly’ highlight was the Viennese Waltz, it was a wonderful week and it went really well, it felt great and it was a good dance for me.

“I just want to say thank you to Brendan who’s been incredible and I really mean that. He’s an incredible friend and dancer and so supportive.”

Brendan added: “When we got partnered up together I was very excited and I’ve seen somebody who had no dance experience and not really any performing experience, turn it around and become quite a performer. I’m so proud of that last performance and I’m proud of you.”

The remaining ten couples will take to the dancefloor next Saturday (7 November) at 7.15pm on BBC One.
