It's fair to say that Santa was not in the best state when he made an early visit to Glasgow.
Dressed as the full Father Christmas, the man made a remarkable journey to the top of a horse-shaped monument in Scotland's largest city.
Onlookers clapped and cheered as what can only be described as a Santa-rescue-crane came to lift old St Nick from the Duke of Wellington statue.
Meanwhile one Twitter user posted a video of the incident online and people flocked to offer their not-so-sympathetic opinions of the 'drunk' Santa:

According to local reports, police officers were quickly on the scene and the man came down from the statue, which is outside the city’s Gallery of Modern Art.
A police spokesman confirmed officers attended and the man was "spoken to accordingly".
