Despite the fact that the pair famously have a love-hate relationship on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel, Simon has said that he has reached out to his friend and fellow judge.
Speaking to HuffPost UK and other reporters at this year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions in London, he explained: “I texted her the other night, but I haven't spoken to her.”
He went on to add that Cheryl seems “on good form”, despite the breakdown of her marriage to French beau, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
Following weeks of speculation about her relationship, various media outlets claimed earlier this month that Cheryl and Jean-Bernard were divorcing, just over a year after first tying the knot.
Since then, the ‘Call My Name’ singer has kept schtum about the reports, though she has made several solo public appearances, including last week when she attended the launch of her friend’s new ‘boutique boxing gym’, KOBOX.
Her estranged husband, meanwhile, has alluded to the speculation surrounding their split on his Instagram page, writing: “To be continued ...if You Think You Know , You ain't no idea but be my guest keep on talking!”
Cheryl and Jean-Bernard are believed to have separated in August, with a source telling The Mirror: "In the end Cheryl realised she had married too soon and had been swept away by a bit of a whirlwind romance.
“Cheryl seems to want this over and done with as quickly as possible but it could be held up if she does have any talks with JB over a financial settlement.”
