One of the women alleged to have been having an affair with Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is seeking legal advice after pictures of her were circulated on social media along with allegations that she was in a relationship with Ramaphosa, eNCA reported.
The woman, PhD student Nonhlanhla Radebe, strongly denies ever having met Ramaphosa let alone having had an affair with him.
On Monday, eNCA reported that Radebe's ANC branch, the Sefako Makgatho branch in Johannesburg, released a statement on her behalf expressing her shock at the story.
"Comrade Nonhlanhla Radebe wishes to state that she has never had any relationship with the deputy president and has never even met him... She has never received any funding from comrade Cyril Ramaphosa or his organisation, nor has she ever met him," it said.
"She is based in Germany at the Technische Universität Berlin and is currently in the country to conduct her research for her PhD thesis, which she is doing in collaboration with the City of Tshwane on optimising anaerobic digesters."
At the weekend, the Sunday Independent reported allegations that Ramaphosa had had affairs with eight women, some of whom he supports financially.
In an exclusive interview with the Sunday Times, Ramaphosa admitted to having an affair with a medical doctor who is also mentioned in the Sunday Independent report but said the affair ended years ago. He said the allegations were part of a smear campaign against him.
