Choose Confident - Learn To Love Yourself

In 2017 there is an abundance of different dress styles available and I would doubt any lady who told me that me that she hadn't been able to find anything that suited her. No matter how disproportionate you feel (and you're probably not) it's very unlikely that the manufacturers haven't made anything to suit your shape.

The key to developing your own personal style is learning to view yourself as someone else would. Many ladies make the mistake of dwelling on one particular area but people meeting you won't do that; they will view you as a whole.

To start with take a good overall look at yourself in a full length mirror. At this point don't consider any individual areas, just look at how you present. How is your posture? Do you stand tall? Do you look happy and inviting? Teach yourself to act confidently, even if you're not feeling it. You'll be surprised how soon you'll start to believe in yourself if you 'kid' yourself to start with.

Next, take yourself in sections. Don't just look at the obvious bits like your legs and boobs. Consider more discreet areas such as the nape of your neck, your hands, the shape of your ankles, the curves of your figure and your bone structure. Seek out positives and think about how these areas can be emphasised.

You will undoubtedly find some imperfections; accept these and move on. Don't dwell on the bits you don't like - focus on the positives. Be honest with yourself and don't be afraid to give yourself praise.

What would you say to the reflection in the mirror if it was a friend? What would you compliment her on?

Once you've evaluated your reflection and decided what you want to accentuate and what you want to divert from, consider what style you like. You don't need to choose a current prevailing fashion from a magazine; just decide what you like and what you feel comfortable with.

If you like the romantic look, find clothing with pretty details. If you like to look well turned out, look for a classic and elegant outfit. Don't be afraid to admit if your priority is comfort; a no fuss attitude is fine. Simple lines and designs may be more what you like.

When you know the type of look you want to portray, consider the clothing styles you can adopt within that look. For example, if you like your shoulders, an outfit that shows them off will likely make you feel more confident; likewise, if you're not keen on your knees, focus on outfits that cover them.

Once you have found your style, play with it, keeping in mind which bits of yourself you have decided you want to accentuate. Accessorise, experiment and most of all, don't be afraid.

The chances are, if you like it and if you feel good, then you'll look good.
