Once you get to university, living the life of a student can get expensive, stressful and at times, even boring. Now thanks to the awesome individuals within the tech industry, we're literally a download away from convenience. To make life a little easier and exciting for students, especially now that it's coming up to the time of dreaded exams and final assignments, we've put together a list of six useful applications.

UNiDAYS

It doesn't matter if you're in university, secondary school. If you're a shopaholic (and a 'money-saver-holic') then this is the app for you. UniDays will give you access to hundreds of discounts, deals and coupons from your favourite retailers.

Whether you're out to buy the on-trend jacket from Topshop, the latest Mac from Apple or a double cheese burger when you're in a rush, UniDays has got you covered.

mySupermarket

Not only does this app allow you to view the price of shopping items from 15 supermarkets, but it also allows you to compare the prices from each store. You'll no longer have to physically visit the various supermarkets to compare prices - you can do it from the comfort of your bedroom with just a few taps. A shopping list is also included, making it less likely for you to forget the things you want.

Fosters for the weekend game. Check. Your favourite cereal to get you ready for that 9am start. Check. More cash in your pockets. Check. With mySupermarket, you're all sorted.

UnItrade

If you're a student who has heaps of unwanted books, clothes, shoes or anything else that could be used by someone else, then this is the app for you. UnItrade allows you to buy, sell and swap unwanted items on campus, and it's all for free.

So if you're in first year wanting to buy course books, a second year student desperate to sell a four slice toaster or a final year student who wants to swap a smart, plain white shirt for fairy wings (who doesn't like fairy wings), then UnItrade is definitely for you.

Feedly

No longer will you have to keep switching from website to website, seeking out articles to include in your assignment. Thanks to Feedly, you can do all of that effortlessly and probably in half the time. All you have to do is select the topics you're interested in, then follow the websites and blogs that you want to read.

From TechCrunch to BBC News, you'll be able to stay up-to-date with bite size info. Thanks to Feedly, you're even more likely to impress your lecturer with a wider selection of current references.

Dojo

If you're living in London or planning a weekend visit and don't know what to do, then Dojo is definitely the app for you. The first thing that might come to mind when you hear "Dojo" is a secret underground training camp based in Oxford Circus - the Hogwarts of martial arts some may say. As cool as that would be, this app offers something better.

You won't have to worry about finding the best places to eat, drink or go out, be it day or at night. With Dojo, you will be able to easily discover them, and with the integration of Citymapper and Uber, travelling around London has never been simpler or faster.

Layout

Instagram has seriously changed the photo-sharing game, but standard selfies sometimes don't make the cut for 60 likes - nowadays, you have got to get more creative with your pics. By using Layout, you can create amazing collages in a fun way.

If you're on holiday with your boyfriend or girlfriend, and have just taken four really cool photos, instead of uploading each of them one by one, you can combine all four into one gorgeous picture. In a way, Layout turns you from an average student into an esteemed author telling a captivating story.

There you have it. Six applications that we hope will make your life as a student not only easier, but also a whole lot more enjoyable. Now all you have to do is pass those assignments and exams.
