Alanis Morissette has welcomed her third child, revealing his name on an Instagram post – and no it isn’t ironic, but it is quite unusual.

The 45-year-old, who is already mum to eight-year-old Ever Imre and three-year-old Onyx Solace, carried on with the unique name trend and revealed her newborn son is called Winter.

“He’s here,” she captioned a black and white photo of her son, before revealing his full name is: Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway.

The Canadian singer, who is married to rapper Souleye, revealed she was expecting her third child in March 2019.

Sharing a photo at the time showing a visible baby bump, she wrote: “So much NEWness”.

Morissette’s first two children were born at home, with the help of doulas, an experience she described as “gnarly”. It’s not yet known whether she had a home birth with her third child, too.

In 2016, she famously bared all in an Instagram pregnancy photo that showed her floating underwater.

She captioned it with a quote from her son, who was five at the time: “You have to be extra gentle around ladies because they are the most helpful people in the world ‘cause they make persons’.”
