In its quest to become a (the?) portal for virtually any saleable good in the known universe, Amazon has recently started selling one-off fine artworks, collectibles and valuable works.

Among the works on sale is Damien Hirst's 2007 Beautiful Magnificent Stand And Deliver Painting (With Diamonds), which costs £323,000 but comes with "free shipping".

The painting, which measures 36in (91.5cm) by 36in (91.5cm), is described online as being "Cubic zirconia and household gloss paint on canvas".

Other works up for sale include Claude Monet's L'Enfant A La Tasse, Portrait de Jean Monet for 1.45 million US dollars (£900,000) and American painter Norman Rockwell's Willie Gillis: Package From Home for 4.85 million US dollars (£3.1 million).

And Amazon's masterful comedy reviewers have taken the bait.

Across the site, wry, sardonic and occasionally oblivious commenters have taken the retailer to task for everything from mis-selling "broken" Andy Warhol artwork to not offering one-day delivery on a Monet painting worth more than $1.45 million.

So even if you can't afford to pick up your own million pound masterpiece for the kitchen wall, it turns out you can still enjoy Amazon's foray into the world of Christies and Sotheby's.

Here are some of our favourite reviews so far - and the extraordinarily rare artworks that they accompany.
