WHO? DAKS

IN A NUTSHELL: If next summer is all about the 'staycation' then DAKS is dishing up the perfect Brit holiday wardrobe. We were transported back to the 50s for some elegant poolside posing, with a show that opened with clips of vintage seaside postcards and diving videos. In a nautical colour palette of navy and white, with the odd shot of red (plus a super-cute rope print) we were treated to classic shirt dresses with bow-tied waistbands, adorable towling jumpsuits and open front midi skirts flashing short shorts underneath. The checked trench coats could well give Burberry a run for their money, too.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: We've got our eye on one of the sleek halterneck jumpsuits (which we'll wear with a very large hat). And we also quite fancy copying the models' chic wet-look chignons.

VERDICT: DAKS stayed true to its English heritage roots with the new collection - yet it was far from predictable. The teeny-tiny jumpsuits and racer-back dresses would appeal to a younger, wider market, while the classic blouses and boxy jackets will no doubt be snapped up by their current loyal clientele. Oh we do love to be beside the seaside...
