Things can get a little fuzzy when you've had too much to drink, but for one man, it was a severe case of beer goggles after he mistook a grass verge for his bedroom and fell asleep on it.

The man, reportedly a student, was so convinced he was slumbering in his bed he even asked a passerby who tried to wake him: "Shut my window for me, it's freezing in here".

Lewis Sharp, 24, was returning home from York city centre on Tuesday night when he spotted the young man passed out on the kerb and tried to rouse him from his sleep. Sharp posted a photo online of the man sleeping, which has since been shared more than 3,000 times.

"I was then stunned when he asked me to close the window because he was too cold," Sharp said, according to the Daily Mail. "I couldn't believe it - he was clearly so drunk that he had no idea where he was. He was absolutely convinced it was his bedroom.

"I thought it was really funny considering it was November and his position was so awkward with him leaning back over the hill like that."

To Sharp's surprise, two other men had also taken pictures the same drunken individual after coming across him following a night out.
