Ever dreamed of having your portrait taken by legendary British photographer Rankin? This beauty brand could make it come true.

Nail art experts Essie have teamed up with Rankin to launch their Colour Portrait Studio - open for one day only on Tuesday 17 May at a secret London location.

Competition winners will get a once-in-a-lifetime photoshoot with Rankin, as well as their nails polished by Essie manicurists and professional hair and makeup.

Rankin is one of the most famous portrait photographers in the world - shooting everyone from the Queen, to Kate Moss, to Michael Jackson - with 32 books and editorials with top supermodels in every major fashion mag under his belt.

Speaking about the collaboration, Rankin said: "Colour plays an important role in my photography, as does making the subject feel confident in front of the camera - The Colour Portrait Studio with Essie is the ultimate expression of both of these.

"I’m looking forward to meeting everyone on the day; we’re going to have a lot of fun."

To snag yourself this photoshoot you'll need to perfect your nail art game, so to help give you the best chance of a fab nail selfie, manicurist Rita Remark has shared her top three tips to try.

1. Before painting your nails, clean thoroughly with soap and water to remove all dirt and residue from your nails - it also doesn’t hurt to use a bit of hand sanitiser too.

2. Always use a base coat – not only does it anchor your polish, but it also protects your nails like a shield. This is an essential step for the perfect mani.

3. Remember nobody’s perfect. If you colour outside of the lines, just take a makeup brush dipped in a little bit of nail polish remover, and it wipes away like it never happened. Just make sure you remember to wash it thoroughly before using it again.
