With blue skies and warmer weather finally starting to make an appearance, it's time to refresh our wardrobes, replacing heavy fabrics and dark colours with lighter tones and softer textures to compliment the longer days and brighter nights. With so many great looks on the high street at the moment, I wanted to share some of my favourite London Fashion Week-inspired spring and summer trends with you, including bold statements, oversized pieces and the return of floral prints for a range of fun and feminine looks that are guaranteed to revamp your wardrobes and give you a spring in your step.

Flower Power

From Topshop to Alexander McQueen, floral prints made a real comeback at LFW on everything from clothing, to footwear and accessories. Whether you want to opt for a delicate print or something a bit bigger and bolder, florals are super-versatile, adding a touch of femininity and playfulness to your look. For a stylish day-time outfit, why not pair a plain white tee with a pair of floral jeans? To take you into the evening, just add a pair of chunky heels. Florals also tend to work on a variety of textures unlike other patterns, so there's lots to experiment with. I've got my eye on a great floral denim jacket from ASOS at the moment.

Supersize Me

Supersized clothing is another hit on the high street right now. From shorts to bags, hemlines and sleeves - the bigger the better this season. The trick with this trend is to strike a balance, for example, try teaming a shirt with large cuffs or a slouchy jumper with a pair of straight legged trousers or a tight-fitting skirt. Mixing and matching will ensure your natural body shape doesn't get lost in all the material.

Word Up

The spring / summer catwalks were awash with bold statements and logos at LFW, covering everything from the names of designers to political statements and it's a look that's here to stay. The trend is a great way to add some edge to your wardrobe, so why not make a statement, by pairing a slogan tee with a cute mini skirt?

Sourcing the trends

An important part of my job as a stylist is to hunt down all the best looks as soon as they hit the shelves, which means a lot of online shopping - especially for those harder to find limited edition pieces. ASOS, Missguided and New Look have some great catwalk-inspired clothes, footwear and accessories that look like they've come straight off the catwalk. Not sure whether something will suit you? If in doubt, I always say buy it while it's still in stock; I use Click & Collect services like CollectPlus so I can get my fashion haul delivered to a shop near me and return anything I don't like for free.

So, what are you waiting for? Shop the look and get ready for the new season!
