How to Be Healthy... Without Feeling Like a Tw*t

The worst thing you can do is to act righteous and make others feel bad about their choices. Everyone is different and you don't want to be judged so it's not fair to make others feel like that. Treat others how you would want to be treated!

You're on a health kick and you're feeling smug because you had a delicious breakfast full of superfoods and you've got a fridge full of market-bought vegetables. You feel motivated and are determined that you're going to stick to it... and then your phone buzzes and before you know it dinner plans are in the diary for Wednesday night!

Of course you're not going to say no because of a health kick!? But you so wanted this to be the week that you would stay healthy... it's a battle of willpower versus Fomo. Can you really say no to the pizza and order a superfood salad at the same time as saving face in front of your friends who seem to always have something cheese-laden and stay super-slim!?

YES YOU CAN.... and here's how...

1. Do it because you want to, not because you have to

If you don't want to actually eat the food you are making or ordering then what's the point. Find ways to incorporate health into your life that you'll enjoy, otherwise you'll end up giving up and feeling worse about it.

2. Who cares what anyone else thinks!

If you're trying to be healthy then don't worry about what others think. It's your choice and you have your own reasons for making those choices so never feel embarrassed.

3. Don't be self-indulgent about it and never make other people judge themselves for their choices

4. Remember, the customer is always right so make sure you're getting what you want when you're paying for it.

What's the point in going out for a meal if you're not going to enjoy it? Don't feel bad for asking too many questions about whether or not the falafels are 'gluten free' or asking to have your dressing on the side. You're not being 'difficult'... you're paying for a service!

5. Be proud! Your health is important so it's a fantastic thing that you are making it a priority

What have you got if you haven't got your health? It's important to do what's right for you, so honor your decisions and be proud that you resisted that pizza and remember, the odd treat/cheat isn't that bad either... It's all about balance!
