This Is What A Category 5 Storm Looks Like From Space

This is Typhoon Maysak. It was at one point one of the most powerful storms that nature can produce, creating wind speeds of up to 300km/h.

Astronauts on the International Space Station found themselves in the prime position to capture the Super Typhoon at its height with Terry Virts tweeting dramatic images of the storm's enormous 'eye'.

The storm has reportedly claimed the lives of nine people so far, devastating many of the small islands around the Philippines and while it has since been weakened in strength from a category five to a category two, there are still major concerns that it could claim further lives.
